Pollution comes in many forms from the molecular level to giant landfills. The pollution we are focusing on is mainly carbon monoxide & nitrogen oxide emission from automobiles. Pollution from cars is divided into 2 categories: Primary & Secondary. Primary pollution is emitted directly into the atmosphere while secondary results from chemical reactions from the atmosphere & pollutants. (Haluzan, N, 2011)
What kind of pollution is the worst?
When talking about the worst kind of pollution you can look at it in multiple ways, how is it harming people or animals or how is it harming the environment & ecosystems. In the People's perspective, which is what we are focused on, air pollution has been found to kill 2.4 million people each year. This mainly coming from cars & industries. In fact indoor pollution kills more than outdoor at 1.5 million for indoor. (Haluzan, 2011)
How can we prevent pollution?
To prevent the most harmful pollutants (Air & Water) we would need to burn less fossil fuels, reduce industrial activity and use cleaner technology in factories and cars. Also legislation across the globe plays a big role in that many countries care very little for our environment and pollution issues. (Haluzan, N, 2011)
Is there anyway to reverse pollution's previous effects?
Yes, There are many things we can do to “reverse” or improve pollution's effects on ourselves & the land. Although don't be deceived for most of the harmful pollution like chemicals that seep into the ground can't be undone. What we can do is change as a society and move to greener alternatives like recycling and reuse things like clothes, shopping bags and bottles. In the bigger scheme factories and companies have to find safer solutions of dumping these wastes that contaminate our land. (Haluzan, N, 2011)
